STADIUM SUPER TRUCKS RETURNING TO TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY IN 2018 FOR JUNE TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 22, 2017) – The SPEED Energy Stadium Super Truck Series will return to Texas Motor Speedway in 2018 for the “No Limits Off-Road Rumble,” creating another diverse tripleheader weekend scheduled for June 8-9 that also includes the Verizon IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The Stadium Super Truck Series received rave reviews from fans during its inaugural event held in June during the Texas Indy 600 weekend. The series hosted two races that same evening as the Verizon IndyCar Series race – one prior to that event and one following Victory Lane ceremonies – to add to the annual Saturday evening show.

The “No Limits Off-Road Rumble” will once again be paired with the also newly named “No Limits Off-Road Ruckus.” The ruckus will feature an expo and interactive activities for enthusiasts of jeeps, trucks, Utility Terrain Vehicles and buggies. The expansive layout covered the infield inside of Turn 2 this past June.

“The Stadium Super Trucks were a great addition to our June race weekend and judging from the response from our fans it was a huge hit with them,” Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “The Super Trucks also give our fans quite a diverse weekend with three different disciplines of motorsports.”

The course layout proved challenging for competitors while entertaining for race fans. The unique layout incorporated the frontstretch and infield paddock area, featuring ramps along the frontstretch, a jump into the South Paddock and a soaring under-over-jump. The course also offered multiple race surfaces with portions of the track made of dirt to partner with the asphalt of pit lane and the frontstretch.

PJ Jones won the opening race and Sheldon Creed the second race, but Gavin Harlien was crowned the overall champion based off finishing points from the two races combined.

“SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks is looking forward to returning to Texas Motor Speedway in 2018,” Stadium SUPER Trucks President Robby Gordon said. “The Texas Motor Speedway staff likes to do things big, and with SST’s return to the Texas Indy 600 weekend it will be bigger and better. We plan on building a bigger crossover jump, and tailoring the track to create even more high-energy, full contact racing. Texas is known as a truck state, and we are excited to bring our high-flying SST trucks back to Texas.”

2016 Sand Sports Super Show, September 16th & 17th

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (August 30, 2016)- Robby Gordon’s SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS will return to the OC Fair and Event Center Sept. 16 & 17 for two nights of exciting off-road racing action at the Sand Sports Super Show.

Similar to the last three years, another spectacular dirt and asphalt track will be built at the Orange County Fair Grounds. Last year’s layout produced some of the best racing we have scene in Costa Mesa with door to door racing action all over the track from the 650-horsepower TRAXXAS SST trucks. However, the highlight of the unique track was a massive ramp that launched the trucks at least 30 feet in the air, and across opposing lanes of traffic. This signature crossover jump is one of the most impressive aspects of any motorsports event and is one of the reasons the Orange County race generates a capacity crowd of off-road enthusiasts year after year.

In addition to the thrills and spills of the high flying SST trucks, Sand Sports Super Show attendees and UTV racers of Southern California will be treated to the addition of the $5,000 to win OPEN UTV Shootout. All makes and models of UTV’s are welcomed to compete in this newly added event, and a chance for one driver to bring home one of the biggest winnings offered in UTV racing today.

For more information, and how to register for the OPEN UTV Shootout please visit https://stadiumsupertrucks.com or email Chris Hecht at checht@stadiumsupertrucks.com.

In addition to the OPEN UTV Shootout, Arctic Cat will hold their own under card race each night featuring celebrities and local Arctic Cat dealers. In similar fashion to SST racing, each competitor will be assigned to an identically prepared Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000 to take on each other in a true test of drivers skill.

While at the Sand Sports Super Show and SST race make sure to stop by and visit both Arctic Cat displays for new 2017 models and products. The main display will be located in the Sand Sports Super Show, while a smaller version will be located in the Stadium SUPER Trucks pit area.

Also returning to accompany the exciting SSTs and UTVS, will be a full slate of racing by the fan favorite 1400 trucks. These desert racers turned short course machines have been apart of the Stadium SUPER Trucks Sand Sports Super Show program since the inception back in 2013, and when they are on track you never know what to expect. In 2014 Michael Cox stole the show launching his modified Ford Bronco sky high much to the delight of the roaring crowd, last year it was Buddy Baker and Ryan Kibbe with the TrophyLTD car whom stunned the crowd and other competitors competing with the trucks. Who will be the highlight of the 1400 class in 2016?

Single- day tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for kids under 12, Police, Fire and active or retired military with a valid ID. All tickets will be sold at the gate on race day. Friday’s event will feature Kids free for kids under 12.

Companies and individuals interested in renting fully catered VIP suites that include private elevated seating for 25 per evening, refreshments and food, can call Stadium SUPER Trucks at 704-949-1255 for pricing. The VIP suites also include track-facing advertising space, public address announcements, and access to secured restrooms.

Gates will open Sept. 18 and 19 at 5:30 p.m. with a track walk, and autograph session scheduled to take place each night from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Each night will include more than three hours of on-track action for fan and Sand Sports Super Show patrons to enjoy.

Texas Motor Speedway Adds Stadium SUPER Trucks to 2017 Race Schedule

Fort Worth, Texas (August 27, 2016)-
Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage announced today the addition of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS to the speedway’s racing lineup in 2017.

The addition of Stadium SUPER Trucks will create a diverse tripleheader weekend in June as the racing series will be paired with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Verizon IndyCar Series. The Stadium SUPER trucks feature event will take place in advance of the Firestone 600 on Saturday, June 10.

The widely popular SST Series features 12 identically prepared 650-horsepower trucks that are built to take flight much like their scaled down TRAXXAS radio-control-car counterparts. Able to race on virtually any surface, the SST trucks will race along the speedway’s pit road, frontstretch and portion of the infield. A detailed layout of the course will be announced at a later date.

Compared to the oval racing of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Verizon IndyCar Series, the SST races will feature 36-inch tall aluminum ramps placed in strategic locations throughout the course, allowing the trucks to fly 20 feet off the ground and hundreds of feet down the course, all while hitting speeds upwards of 140 miles per hour.

The announcement was made by Gossage and former INDYCAR and NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, who created the series in 2013, at Texas Motor Speedway prior to Saturday night’s resumption of the Firestone 600 that was suspended from its June date due to weather-related issues.

“For Stadium SUPER Trucks to return back to the state of Texas, after competing at X Games Austin for two successful years, I cannot be more excited,” Stadium SUPER Trucks President Robby Gordon said. “When you think of Texas two things come to mind; trucks and things that are big. Stadium SUPER Trucks gives you both, with the excitement of competitive door-to-door racing with big air.”

Stadium SUPER Trucks feature an 11-event schedule in 2016 spanning five different countries, touring as co-events with INDYCAR and V8 Supercar in Australia and New Zealand.

With a wide variety of drivers from all forms of motorsports, competitors such as 2015 series champion Sheldon Creed, Arie Luyendyk Jr., Tyler McQuarrie, as well as Australian’s Matt Brabham and Paul Morris all have an equal opportunity at winning.

Stadium Super Trucks to roar at Castrol EDGE Townsville 400, July 8-10

High octane V8 Supercars, iconic Australians bands ICEHOUSE and Choirboys and the spectacular Stadium Super Trucks will be part of the biggest and best Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 in July. V8 Supercars stars Chaz Mostert and Scott Pye today joined Stadium Super Truck star Paul Morris to officially launch the event in Townsville.

Created by former IndyCar racer Robby Gordon, the 600hp V8 Stadium Super Trucks will make their first visit to North Queensland, with their 200kmh plus speeds and massive jumps sure to thrill the crowds at Reid Park. General admission trackside tickets for the event start at $46, with Saturday Rock ‘n’ Race tickets starting at just $81, including access to the concert featuring ICEHOUSE and Choirboys. Children aged 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

V8 Supercars Managing Director Matt Braid said the event would be the biggest and best since it started in 2009. “The Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 is the premier motorsport and entertainment event in North Queensland and that is thanks to the people who have supported it from the start,” he said. “From the Stadium Super Trucks and the Saturday night concert to the Disney Zone for our younger fans, we have everyone covered. But most of all it is sensational value for the fans and a show the people of North Queensland won’t want to miss.”

Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events Kate Jones said the on and off-track entertainment would help promote North Queensland as a premier events destination. “The Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 showcases the city as a world class sporting events destination, boosting tourism and creating jobs in the region,” Ms Jones said. Castrol Marketing Director Diana Hall said that Castrol was proud to again be the naming rights sponsor of the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400, North Queensland’s premier motorsport and entertainment event.

“V8 Supercars is such an iconic sport, where the cars and the drivers battle it out each and every time they hit the track. Endurance and strength are pivotal and together with the dynamic crowds that the event draws each year, make this event such a massive success,” she said. Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 would bring excitement and entertainment to the region. “In our 150th year, it’s appropriate that it looks like this year could be the best one yet. The event has always been very well supported by Townsville residents, and brings a huge influx of visitors and offers a fantastic boost to the local economy,” she said.

DJR Team Penske racer Scott Pye had a top-five finish in Townsville last year and said he was looking forward to returning to the unique ‘street and park’ layout. “I enjoy Townsville as spectators can get up really close to the racing and there is a great party atmosphere,” said Pye. Supercheap Auto Racing young gun Chaz Mostert agrees, saying that the North Queensland fans are some of the most passionate in the country. “The Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 is always an awesome event. It’s one of the great atmosphere rounds with the rock ‘n’ race aspect of the weekend and it’s always good to get back to some warmer weather,” he said.

On track the V8 Supercars will be complemented by quality support categories including the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series, V8 Utes and Australian GT Championship. The Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 will be held from 8-10 July and is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of the It’s Live! in Queensland major events calendar.
