Corp continues with the ‘All or Nothing’ mantra as they announce that Toyo Tires® will be the Official Tire of SPEED® Energy Formula Off-Road for 2015. This marks the third season that Toyo Tires has supported the series, and the second year that all Stadium SUPER Trucks™ (SST) will compete on Toyo® Open Country® A/T II tires. Toyo Open Country tires are known for their traction, durability, and uniformity, all critical to the performance of the 600-plus horsepower SST trucks.

The race series was founded by Team Toyo® off-road champion, and former NASCAR® and IndyCar® driver, Robby Gordon. A field of identically prepared SST trucks tackle a serpentine race course with ramp jumps that can launch them 20 feet in the air. Intense action, combined with speeds as high as 130-mph, keep spectators on the edges of their seats.

Local media reports indicated immediate acceptance and overwhelming popularity of the trucks by Australian race fans.

The remaining 2015 events will be held throughout the US and Canada and will include national TV coverage.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 16, 2015) – Following a thrilling debut in 2014, the SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS will return to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg March 27-29 with two weekend races and a 30-minute practice session on Friday afternoon.

The two SST by Traxxas races are scheduled for March 28 at 3:30 p.m. and March 29 at 2:10 p.m. Both races lead directly into Verizon IndyCar activities, with the first race going green just before IndyCar qualifying and the second taking place before the season-opening IndyCar race. The SSTs will practice March 27 from 6:30-7 p.m.

The SST by Traxxas series opened its season with three races Feb. 27-March 1 in Adelaide, Australia with E.J. Viso winning the first race, and Traxxas-sponsored drivers Sheldon Creed and Keegan Kincaid taking the next two respectively. NASCAR and IndyCar veteran Robby Gordon finished second in all three events.

The Traxxas SST’s made their first visit to Florida in 2014 at St. Petersburg with series founder Gordon winning the first race in an amazing drive through a torrential rain storm and P.J. Jones edging Gordon for the win in race two that featured beautiful Florida sunshine.

Creed, Kincaid, Viso and Gordon will again battle at St. Petersburg and will be joined by Bill Hynes, Charles Dorrance, Scotty Steele, Apdaly Lopez and Burt Jenner, with one additional driver to be named.

•2015 is the third season of SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks by TRAXXAS.

ADELAIDE, South Australia (March 1, 2015) – Second-generation off-road racing expert Keegan Kincaid captured his first Formula Off-Road Presented by TRAXXAS Stadium Super Trucks street circuit win in convincing fashion Sunday in the finale of the Toyo Tires SST race on the temporary street circuit in Victoria Park Adelaide in front of a announced crowd of 93,500 truck racing fans.

Kincaid, a native of Crandon, Wisc., driving his No. 47 Traxxas-sponsored truck, inherited the lead from Brad Gallard of Renmark, South Australia as his No. 454 Peter Kittle Motor Company truck took the third metal ramp of the 14-turn 2.012 mile (3.219 km) temporary street course awkwardly resulting in a rough landing which sent the truck into a spin.

Exciting Alpine, Calif. off-road regular Sheldon Creed wasted no time moving to the front of the pack from his seventh starting position. Back row starters E.J. Viso of Caracas, Venezuela and Robby Gordon of Orange, California immediately followed Creed to the front of the pack and created a tremendous four-truck battle also involving Australian driver Matt Mingay of Gold Coast, Queensland. Battling corner to corner, sliding sideways and smoking his tires, Viso make contact with Mingay in corner 6 causing them both to spin.

Gordon and Creed then broke away from the rest of the pack three wheeling and trailing each other closely swamping the second position multiple times behind Kincaid. As Kincaid controlled the race, Gordon and Creed put on a driving performance for the ages maneuvering their 600-horsepower Traxxas trucks around the track much to the delight of the ecstatic crowd.

Gordon made a last-corner pass on Creed who missed his mark and lost control of his truck just short of the finish line. Creed created the highlight of the race crossing the finish line upside and backward after jumping the second ramp just short of the line.

After making contact with the wall just past the finish line, the Traxxas truck never stopped moving and righted itself landing on all four Toyo Tires, allowing Creed to get back in the gas and pull away from the roll as if nothing happened, much of the delight of the thousands of fans cheering on their feet. Dodging the rolling truck of Creed, Australian stuntman Mingay crossed the line fourth in his No. 2 Hot Wheels sponsored truck.

Renmark, South Australia’s Brad Gallard was fifth in his Peter Kittle Motor Company No. 454 followed by veteran Australian racer Nathan Pretty in the Toyo Tires, Gear Wrench TRAXXAS truck. Charles Dorrance from Austin, Texas in the Light Force Performance Lighting truck finished seventh. Dakar Rally cycle podium finisher Toby Price of Aberglasslyn, New South Wales finished eighth after having to serve a late stop and go penalty. Nazareth, Penn. driver Bill Hynes in the No. 57 LIVE SST Truck rounded out trucks on the lead lap while LIVE teammate Viso suffered a mechanical problem and finish 10.

ADELAIDE, South Australia (February 28, 2015) – Sheldon Creed captured Saturday’s thrilling second round of the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas Stadium Super Trucks (SST) at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia, beating Robby Gordon to the line by a truck length.

Australian driver Matt Mingay of Gold Coast, Queensland finished third, making it the second-consecutive podium finish for the SST newcomer after coming home second in Friday’s first race.

Creed, a young off-road hot shoe from Alpine, Calif., started sixth and drove a calculated yet aggressive race to hold off Gordon and a full field of strong trucks.

Following Saturday’s second race of the season, Creed considered Saturday’s victory redemption for a costly mistake on Friday where he collected Traxxas teammate Keegan Kincaid in an accident at the finish.

More than 80,000 spectators lined the 14-turn 2.012 (3.219 km) street circuit to watch Creed and the Traxxas-branded trucks launch off of man-made ramps on the same DOT-approved Toyo Tires that consumers can buy. The loud raucous cheers of disbelief from the massive Australian crowd could be heard over the trucks as fans of traditional V8 Supercar racing saw the trucks literally fly through the air side by side.

Round 3 of the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas Stadium Super Trucks will take place Sunday prior to the V8 Supercar finale of the Clipsal 500 in Victoria Park in front of another anticipated record crowd.

ADELAIDE, South Australia (February 27, 2015) – E.J. Viso won the first SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas race of 2015 in convincing fashion as 10 SST Traxxas trucks took the green flag at the Clipsal 500 in Victoria Park on Friday morning.

Veteran Off-Road competitor Robby Gordon from Orange, Calif. finished second while SST newcomer Matt Mingay of Gold Coast, Queensland completed the podium.

Viso, of Caracas, Venezuela, was aggressive from the start and moved past truck after truck from his sixth-place starting position on the first lap, and then capitalized on a mistake by early leader and former V8 Supercar driver Nathan Pretty of Melbourne on lap two of the shorted five-lap event and never looked back.

With most drivers struggling to hit their marks on the fast and technical temporary circuit that makes up the 14-turn 2.012-mile (3.219 km) course built for the V8 SuperCars, Viso and Gordon raced flawlessly as they pulled away from the hornet’s nest of trucks battling for position behind them.

Mingay, who raced with a conservative style from his seventh starting position, stayed close to the charging Traxxas teammates of Crandon, Wisc. native Keegan Kincaid and Alpine, Calif. young gun Sheldon Creed who both started on the last row and made their way through the field with an aggressive attack. The white flag lap would see Kincaid and Creed make contact in turn 13 allowing Mingay to capitalize on the mistake and nab his first SST podium.

Traxxas teammates Kincaid and Creed finished fourth and fifth respectively ahead of Australian first time SST racers Toby Price of Aberglasslyn, New South Wales and Brad Gallard of Renmark, South Australia. Bill Hynes of Nazareth, Penn. took the eighth spot ahead of Pretty who experienced mechanical failure on lap three. Austin, Texas driver Charles Dorrance had an early race accident and was credited with 10th.

The SST trucks will race a second round Saturday in front of an anticipated sell out crowd, immediately preceding the second of two V8 SuperCar Twin 125k races.

Adelaide, South Australia ( February 16, 2015) – Clipsal 500 Adelaide organizers today announced the full driver line-up for the Toyo Tires Stadium Super Trucks Presented by Traxxas (SST) race, which will be the Australia debut of the world’s newest and most exciting form of racing.

SST founder and two-time series champion Robby Gordon will be the star attraction when these 600 horsepower V8 trucks line up on the starting grid for next week’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

The Toyo Tires Stadium Super Trucks race will see high profile local and international drivers racing side by side in 10 high powered off-road trucks. The trucks approach speeds of up to 140 mph and ramps can launch the trucks 20 feet into the air and 150 feet down the track.

The starting line-up for the debut of the SST Series in Australia includes five drivers who have competed in the Stadium Super Truck Series previously; Venezuelan IndyCar driver E.J. Viso , rising star Keegan Kincaid, Charles Dorrance, Bill Hynes, and the future of off-road racing, 17 year-old Sheldon Creed.

The Australian contingent eager to impress in their first outing behind the wheel of a Stadium Super Truck consists of; off-road motorcycle racer Toby Price, off-road racing legend Brad Gallard, former V8 Supercars driver and 24-hour Bathurst winner Nathan Pretty and Australia’s most prolific stunt rider Matt Mingay.

Although accustomed to off-road racing on two wheels, Toby Price will be on a high heading into the Clipsal 500 Adelaide after recently becoming just the second Australian to stand on the winners’ podium at the grueling Dakar Rally, clinching third overall after the final stage in Argentina.

The SST’s will hit the track at the 2015 V8 Supercars season opener on Thursday, February 26th, with specially designed jumps added to the iconic Adelaide street circuit and racing scheduled to run over four days.
