TORONTO (May 29, 2019) – Single Day ticket sales launch tomorrow (May 30) at 10 a.m. ET which means the 33rd edition of the Honda Indy Toronto is just over a month away. Along with the release of Single Day tickets, Honda Indy Toronto is excited to announce the return of Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER Trucks to the weekend schedule. This is a fan favourite from the past that will certainly add to the thrills of the on track action for festival-goers. These high-flying trucks will race across jumps and power down the streets surrounding Exhibition Place once again.

“Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER Trucks are a spectacular and popular feature that we are thrilled to add back on the schedule for the first time since 2016!” said Jeff Atkinson, Honda Indy Toronto President. “On and off track, this annual summer Toronto tradition has so much to experience for festival-goers of all ages. A variety of single-day and weekend ticket options and unique packages at varying price points help make the event accessible to all.”

Ticket prices remain unchanged for the second year in a row to the Honda Indy Toronto. 2-Day Grandstand and General Admission are available now offering the best weekend value with access to the best seats. Pricing starts at $85 for 2-Day Grandstand seating, and 2-Day Weekend General Admission is $55. Single Day General Admission is $40 and $70 for reserved Single Day Grandstand seating. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult providing an exceptional family value.

Fan Friday returns for the 10th year offering general admission on Friday, July 12, courtesy of the Ontario Honda Dealers Association through a voluntary donation by festival-goers. Honda Canada Foundation matches dollar for dollar the contributions received on the event weekend. Over $690,000 has been raised in nine years for Make-A-Wish® Canada.

Other items on sale to upgrade the Honda Indy Toronto experience include Pit and IndyCar Paddock Passes. A Pit Pass includes the Paddock Pass and provides access to pitlane during practice, qualifying and pre-race for IndyCar plus all of the on track sessions for the support race series. A Paddock Pass provides entrance into “the locker room of motorsports” to see the cars and drivers up close.

Honda Indy Toronto is an unforgettable weekend for the whole family. The event’s Rookie Racers Club immerses the youngest attendees into the sport with fun experiences. Thunder Alley will be filled with numerous activities and interactive displays including the Honda SpeedZone. Los Angeles, Calif. (July 13, 2016) – Sara Price, 23, a successful multi-championship Professional Motocross and UTV racer from Southern California will be the first woman to compete in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS Series. Price will make her debut during the Honda Indy Toronto July 15-17 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. TORONTO, Ontario, Canada (July 19, 2014) – After winning last season at Toronto, Sheldon Creed of Alpine, Calif. picked up where he left off in the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by TRAXXAS series by winning again on the picturesque downtown street circuit in Canada.

Creed’s TRAXXAS-sponsored truck fought alongside fellow 16-year-old Scotty Steele’s machine for most of the race until Steele made a late mistake on the final lap, which relegated him to a third-place finish, allowing Robby Gordon to inherit second.

Creed started last in the field given that he missed the pre-race driver’s meeting, but drove a steady smart race in the rain to pass every truck in the field en route to victory.

“The difference in driving on asphalt and concrete was incredible,” Creed said referring to the wet, slick conditions. “Scotty was great on the concrete, and when we came off the asphalt his truck just took off. I’ve made a couple of late mistakes in these races and thrown a few away, and I wasn’t going to do it again. I just took my time and didn’t over drive the truck.”

Michigan’s Aaron Bambach came home fourth in his 3deminsional.com truck, with Mexico’s Apdaly Lopez finishing fifth after not getting any practice during Friday’s session where he crashed in turn one of lap one of the session. Toronto’s Paul Tracy fell victim to the wet conditions early in the race and came in sixth, as did Bill Hynes from Nazareth, Pa. in the Freaks for LIVE truck who finished seventh.

NBCSN will broadcast the race at 10 p.m. PDT on July 31 (1 a.m. EDT Aug. 1). Following its trip to Toronto, the series will shift to the west coast for its final three races of the 2014 season at the Sand Sport Super Show in Orange County, Calif. Sept. 19-20; the Coronado Speed Festival Sept. 21 and in Las Vegas in conjunction with the SEMA Show in early November.

The Stadium Super Trucks that will compete in a second race in Toronto Sunday will jump 36-inch tall man-made ramps at more than 100 mph at multiple locations throughout the downtown street circuit hurling drivers nearly 20 feet in the air and 150 feet down course. The series features identically prepared trucks which are made to resemble their scaled-down Traxxas radio-control-car counterparts. Like their Traxxas namesake the trucks are designed to take flight. However, unlike RC trucks, they produce 600 horsepower generating speeds upwards of 130 miles per hour and race on DOT approved Toyo Tires.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 11, 2013) – As the drivers of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks ™ prepare to make history on the temporary 2.824 km street course of the Honda Indy Toronto July 12-14, two champion drivers with a plethora of laps around the course will be looking to make their first-ever SST series start.

Paul Tracy, 2003 CART Series Champion, and 1996 CART Series Champion, Jimmy Vasser will belt into their specially designed 600-horsepower Stadium SUPER Trucks and tackle the familiar course drifting around corners, launching over metal jumps and flying more than 50 feet through the air.

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Tracy will return to racing in front of his hometown fans for the first time since 2011. Capturing three victories previously on the course in 22 starts, Tracy will use his aggressive driving style and track experience to lead the No. 3 SportsNet Canada truck to the front.

“I’m thrilled to race with Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER Truck Series in my hometown of Toronto this weekend,” Tracy said “I’ve been a fan of the SST events this year and have a good bit of experience in off-road vehicles at the Glamis (CA) Sand Dunes So I’m hoping to bring some added excitement to my fans in Toronto.”

With enthusiasm Tracy also added.

“I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel and kicking Robby’s butt around the track with the ‘chrome horn’ just like the old times. I have to give thanks to Robby, SportsNet Canada and KMC Wheels for giving me this opportunity. I cannot wait to get back home to Toronto.”

Also joining Tracy on the streets of Toronto will be Jimmy Vasser, veteran IndyCar driver, 1996 CART/Champ Car Champion, and co-owner of the KV Racing Technology IndyCar team. Hailing from Canoga Park, Calif., Vasser will make his return to Toronto for the 14th time in his career driving the Traxxas No. 12. With experience driving off-road vehicles in Baja-style desert racing, Vasser will look to use that experience to improve on his career best (open wheel/CART) finish of second place on the street course.

Vasser commented on being part of SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Round No. 7 and 8 in Toronto.

“I am very excited to be part of Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER Trucks this weekend,” said Vasser, who now lists 2013 Indy 500 winning team owner to his credits. “With Paul (Tracy), Robby (Gordon), and P. J. (Jones) out there it will be just like the old times in the CART / Champ Car Series. I’ve driven a Class 1 buggy a few times down at Baja. So I’ll use that experience gained, along with my CART background here. I’m hoping to put together a good run and capture my first win on the streets of Toronto.
