Keegan Kincaid Wins Toronto Race #2

Keegan Kincaid Wins SST Presented by Traxxas Race No. 2 at Toronto

TORONTO, Ontario (June 14, 2015) – Keegan Kincaid drove his TRAXXAS-sponsored truck to a soggy victory Sunday in Toronto in the second SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS race at the Honda Indy Toronto.

The Crandon, Wisc. driver won his second race of the 2015 season, the first coming in March in Adelaide, Australia. Sheldon Creed of Alpine, Calif., made it a one-two finish for TRAXXAS as the 17-year-old snookered veteran Robby Gordon and his SPEED Energy-sponsored truck on the 10th and final lap to finish second. As Kincaid kept a comfortable lead on the field, Creed and Gordon traded second place through much of the second half of the race, with Gordon steering clear of the wet and slippery concrete patches on the inside of each corner around the 11-turn, 1.755-mile (2.84 km) street circuit around Exhibition Place.

However, in the closing moments of the final lap, it was Creed that took the high line staying on the asphalt which offered better traction in the driving rain storm, forcing Gordon to attempt to make a pass on the concrete. Gordon spun while racing side-by-side with Creed, allowing the TRAXXAS driver to take second, with Gordon recovering to finish third.

First-time SST competitor Matt Brabham of Gold Coast, Australia finished fourth in a Toyo Tires truck, ahead of Charles Dorrance in the Sportsman Finest SST and Bill Hynes coming home sixth in a LIVE/Think Loud Entertainment truck. First time SST competitor and 15-year-old Toronto driver Russell Boyle finished seventh, with LIVE/Think Loud Entertainment teammates Scotty Steele and E.J. Viso crashing out of the race to finish eighth and ninth respectively. Steele captured his first career SST victory in Saturday’s first Toronto race.
